A Journey into the Love of Erhu 胡情之旅

Amely Zhou’s Inaugural Erhu Concert – October 5th, 2014

Amely Zhou, a young and emerging Toronto musician, is launching her music career with a solo erhu concert at York University on October 5th, 2014.

The concert will feature both traditional and contemporary erhu pieces, including:

• Three variations on the Yang Pass 阳关三叠
• The birds’ return to the forest 鸟投林
• Dance of the Amis Tribe 阿美族舞曲
• new compositions by Taiwanese composer Yunsong Gao and Canadian composer Matthew Van Driel

A variety of ensemble formats will be showcased, including the Cantonese quintet (五架头) and orchestral accompaniment by the Toronto Chinese Orchestra.

胡情之旅

周嘉丽二胡独奏音乐会

2014年10月5日，青年二胡演奏家周嘉丽，将在多伦多约克大学举办自己的首场二胡独奏音乐会《胡情之旅》。

自小热爱音乐的她，年幼时便开始在深圳艺术学校师从二胡老师张雷学习二胡，副修钢琴。期间她得到刘虹，闵慧芬，与张尊连教授等二胡名家的教导。 在移民加拿大以后，她本以为没有机会再继续拉二胡了，不过让她惊喜的是，这里有着为数众多的民族音乐爱好者。一次偶然的机会她结识并加入了多伦多中乐团，在中乐团的大家庭中得到许多帮助与支持。这一切更加决定了她要继续音乐这条路。不久后，约克大学给了她这个机会并且首次开放允许用二胡音乐器乐考试。在这个世界音乐系非常强的学校里，周嘉丽与许多年轻音乐家和作曲家合作继续的去演绎二胡，让身边跟多的人认识并且热爱上二胡这个表现力极强的乐器。在2013年度约克大学音乐系管弦乐队协奏曲比赛中，嘉丽赢得了第一的好成绩，并且荣欣受邀与西洋管弦乐队演奏了大型的二胡协奏曲《红梅随想曲》。

《胡情之旅》音乐会将于10月5日晚上7:30在约克大学Tribute Community Recital Hall举办。周嘉丽不仅会带来二胡音乐的传统代表曲目《阿美族舞曲》，《阳关三叠》等，演绎充满现代音乐元素的《油纸伞下的回忆》 和富有中西合璧气息的《卡门进行曲》，还将演奏由加拿大青年作曲家Matthew Van Driel特意为这场音乐会创作的的二胡曲 《逐风旅人》。音乐会还邀请了多伦多中乐团和青年笛子演奏家吴立鹏作为演奏嘉宾，由指挥家蔡亦翎指挥。周嘉丽的部分优秀学生也将与老师同台献演。
