I joined TCO two years ago in grade 11. I was first invited to become a pluck string player by my guitar teacher who previously played ruan in the orchestra. However, due to my longer instrumental experience in western drums, I chose to join as a percussionist and started interacting with Chinese percussion instruments. I found there to be many similarities in eastern and western percussion which made me pick up the new instruments real quick. Though I did not have any professional orchestra knowledge before I came to TCO, every member showed their patience and friendliness which made me to have such a wonderful musical journey!
